Cecilia García

Cecilia García Martí is an outstanding cellist with a multifaceted profile that encompasses both musical performance and cultural and business management. She graduated with honors from the Frederic Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, where she completed her master’s degree in cello performance under the tutelage of the Dean, Prof. Tomasz Strahl. His thesis, entitled “The Casals Brothers: Cello, Violin, Composition, Politics and their Role during the Spanish Civil War,” was widely praised for its pioneering approach and thorough research.

According to Prof. Strahl, her work is “a groundbreaking and revealing work, written with passion and exceptional scholarly rigor.” Throughout her training, Cecilia studied with renowned cellists such as David Fernández, David Apellániz and with Prof. Michał Dmochowski, who was her teacher and pivotal in her career. She perfected her technique in master classes with figures such as Csaba Onczay, Kazimierz Michalik, Xavier Gagnepain and Philippe Muller. In addition, she was accepted to the Royal College of Music in London for a master’s degree and furthered her training at the prestigious Menuhin International Academy in Gstaad.

Her artistic career has led her to participate in numerous international festivals. She has performed at important festivals in Spain, such as the Soria Festival and Course, the Katarina Gurska Foundation Festival, and the Benidorm International Music Festival and Course, collaborating with pianists of the stature of Graham Jackson and Agnieszka Kozło. She has also given concerts in countries such as Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Italy and Hungary. Since 2020, Cecilia has directed the Pobla de Vallbona Music Festival, which has celebrated four editions with great success, financed thanks to the collaboration of public and private funds.

With a multifaceted profile, she has demonstrated great skill in both musical performance and cultural and business management. In her role as Communications Director at Global Iberartis S.L., she has been instrumental in the realization of projects for renowned institutions such as the Frederic Chopin University of Music, the Polish Institute of Culture, the Spanish Embassy in Warsaw, and the Spanish Trade Attaché Office in Qatar, among others. In addition, he has been a member of national and international juries in prestigious competitions such as the I.J. Paderewski Polish Music Competition, the Slava International Cello Competition and the Talents for Europe in Slovakia, among others. His ability to manage and coordinate these projects and his participation in international juries demonstrate his versatility and commitment to the promotion of culture and music at an international level.
